Charming hostel in the city centre with enough tours to fully guide your trip.
Lisbon Lounge Hostel is a great place for travellers of all kind, hiding right in the heart of Baixa-Chiado. Behind a large blue door on Rua de São Nicolau is an old school walk-up, full of friendly faces and a staff committed to giving you an insider’s tour of Lisbon. The team there is lovely, and always able to supply a recommendation for your every need. They even have their own guide with lists of their favorite bars, restaurants, cafes, and tourist sites.
The rooms are minimal, but very clean for a hostel. I was with three of my friends, so we were able to get a room for ourselves with two bunk beds. You have to supply your own towels and toiletries and the showers aren’t incredible, but for 24 euros a night I wasn’t complaining.
The hostel also offers their own tours, outings, and trips for their guests. They do a walking tour of Lisbon, tour of Sintra (the nearby fairytale city), surfing tour of the coast. Although you can do a lot of this on your own, their tours are reasonably priced for how much you get.
Breakfast is included, which consists of pancakes made fresh with an assortment of toppings (i.e. nutella, jam, butter, etc.) and cereals. They also have coffee and juices to help you start your day. They do serve dinner every night but it’s not included, so you have to make a reservation. But if you’re in Lisbon venture out to Estrela da Bica or Taberna da Rua das Flores, don’t stick around the Hostel.
The hostel is very well located - we didn’t have to take a taxi once while we were there. It’s five minutes from the water, ten minutes from Bairro Alto, and only ten minutes from the Rossio station, a big center for trains (and where we got our train to Sintra).
If you’re travelling to Lisbon with a bunch of friends, Lisbon Lounge Hostel is the way to go. It’s central, easy, and provides many unique opportunities to explore Lisbon.
