A cozy airbnb on the outskirts of Paris.
For my boyfriend and I’s one year anniversary, his brother gave us a trip to Paris. Our Airbnb was located in Place D’Italie, a little neighbourhood on the outskirts of the city centre. We were adjacent to a gorgeous street market - which we passed every day to get to the subway and we often picked up a snack or two.
The Airbnb, owned by a lovely woman who’s grandmother used to own it, was truly an Airbnb Superhost. Although the apartment was a tiny one bedroom with a tiny bathroom and kitchen, it was quintessentially Parisian, and perfect for two students trying to get the most out of Paris on a budget. There was a tiny balcony opening up onto a quiet neighbourhood street, a kitchen stocked with croissants, Nutella, wine, coffee and more (thanks to our host), and the most adorable white bed.

Our host also gave us a list of local recommendations which were crucial to our stay. The bakery downstairs was excellent and opened early and the steak place down the street served one of the best steak frites I’ve ever had. If you want the city centre at your doorstep this isn’t the place for you. But, by going outside the city you get to experience the nooks and crannies of the real Paris, and it forces you to stay out exploring all day. The entire time we were there we only took one cab, and walked around 10 miles every day. I loved this Airbnb and would highly recommend it for student travellers on a budget who aren’t afraid to explore around the city.
